SkinVive™ by Juvéderm®

SkinVive by Juvéderm® is a microdroplet hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable treatment that delivers long-lasting, deep hydration for up to 9-months following a single treatment.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a molecule that attracts and bind more than 1000 times its weight in water. It has also been showed to increase expression of water transportation proteins (e.g., Aquarporin-3). Together, this micro-injection treatment noticeably rejuvenates and hydrates skin 1-month after treatment, and lasts for up to 9-months.

Using a very fine needle, SkinVive™ is injected intradermally (“into the skin”) into multiple spots of the cheeks and/or neck. Only Medical Doctors perform this procedure at our clinic (we do not use nurse injectors). 

Patients report an improved texture of their cheeks and/or neck. Glow, luminosity, plumpness, and hydration of skin may be noticed as well. SkinVive™ improves skin quality and has been termed a “complexion-enhancing” treatment. It might also be helpful for patients with various skin conditions (such as rosacea), fine lines, or acne scaring.  

No. It is considered an injectable moisturizer and skin quality treatment that uses hyaluronic acid microdroplet injections.

Each syringe (1mL vial) costs $399 (+7.65% GST and Square Reader fee). The cheeks require 2-4 syringes. The neck requires 2. Either or both areas can be treated on the same visit. 

There are no consultation, follow-up, or hidden fees.  

There are no refunds or 'free vials' for unsatisfactory cosmetic results.

This procedure is not covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP).  

We use ultra fine needles and only inject near the surface of the skin. That said, each cheek (for example) may require anywhere from 20 - 50 micro-drop injections, and so yes, there is mild discomfort with this treatment. Fortunately, the product itself contains lidocaine, and so this brings down the injection discomfort somewhat.
